Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how EchoNotes handles information when you use the mobile application and related services.
Information you create
EchoNotes lets you record audio or select audio files, then turn them into transcripts and summaries. Audio, transcripts, summaries, titles, and settings are content you create. Saved notes are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share them. If you enable the option to keep original audio, the recording also remains on your device.
Audio and AI processing
When you ask EchoNotes to process a recording, the audio is sent over the network to our backend so it can be transcribed and summarized. Our service uses Cloudflare Workers AI for transcription and Google Gemini for text processing. The transcript is sent to the AI service when needed to create a summary, title, or other requested output. Do not submit audio or content that you do not have the right to process.
Technical and usage information
To operate, secure, and limit the service, our backend processes a pseudonymous installation identifier, app version, platform, request status, audio duration, model usage, and limited error and performance information. We do not use your audio or transcript content for advertising.
Microphone permission
EchoNotes requests microphone access only when you choose to record. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings. The app does not record in the background without an active recording action from you.
Subscriptions and purchases
Optional EchoNotes Pro subscriptions are processed by Google Play or the applicable app store. RevenueCat is used to provide subscription infrastructure and determine whether a Pro entitlement is active. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Purchase and subscription records are handled by the relevant store and RevenueCat under their own policies.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers needed to deliver EchoNotes: Cloudflare for backend and transcription infrastructure, Google for Gemini text processing, Google Play or the applicable store for purchases, and RevenueCat for subscription management. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect the security of the service and its users. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and deletion
Locally saved notes and recordings remain on your device until you delete them, uninstall the app, or clear its data. Service logs and subscription records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for security, billing, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and service operation. You can delete local notes from within the app.
Children
EchoNotes is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the service, contact us so that we can review the request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will publish the updated version here and revise the effective date.
