Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PetFocus handles information when you use the mobile application. PetFocus is a pet camera app: it plays an attention-grabbing sound and lets you capture a photo or a short video of your pet looking at the camera.

Camera, photos and videos

PetFocus needs camera access to show the live viewfinder and take photos and videos. Photos are saved to your device's gallery under Pictures/PetFocus, and videos under Movies/PetFocus, using Android's standard MediaStore. These files stay on your device — PetFocus does not upload, transmit, or have remote access to your photos or videos. They remain visible to any other gallery or file app on your device, like any other photo or video you take.

Microphone

Microphone access is optional and used in two places only: (1) if you choose to record your own custom attention sound (a Pro feature), the clip is saved locally on your device and used only to play back through the app; and (2) if you record a hold-to-record video and have granted microphone permission, the video's audio track is recorded together with the video and saved to your device the same way as a silent video would be. If you don't grant microphone permission, videos are simply saved without sound and the custom-sound feature stays unavailable — nothing else in the app is affected.

Information stored on your device

PetFocus stores your preferences — selected sound, auto-capture delay, grid, burst mode and flash preferences, onboarding status — locally on your device. This information is used only to run the app's features and is not sent anywhere.

Purchases

PetFocus offers an optional one-time Pro purchase through Google Play. Purchase processing is handled by Google Play. RevenueCat is used to validate purchases and determine whether the Pro entitlement is active. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Advertising

Free users may see ads provided by Google AdMob, shown outside the camera viewfinder and never while a sound is playing or right after a capture. Google and its advertising partners may process device, usage, or advertising identifiers in accordance with their own policies. PetFocus requests non-personalized ads where supported, and never shows ads to Pro users.

Service providers

Depending on the features you use, information may be processed by Google Play, Google AdMob, and RevenueCat. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Data sharing and sale

PetFocus does not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed for the services described above, to comply with law, or to protect the security of the app and its users.

Data retention and deletion

Your photos and videos remain on your device until you delete them from the app's gallery or from another file/gallery app, uninstall PetFocus, or clear the app's data. A recorded custom sound and your saved preferences are removed the same way. Purchase records are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat as necessary to provide and verify the purchase.

Children

PetFocus is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will publish the updated version here and revise the effective date above.
