Screen & Hardware Inspector · Android

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Screen & Hardware Inspector handles information when you use the Android application. The app is provided by Stargazer Apps, operated by an independent developer (“Stargazer Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Local-first diagnostics.

The app performs its screen, touch, sensor, camera, audio, battery, and hardware checks on your device. Stargazer Apps does not operate an account system or application backend that receives your diagnostic results.

Information the app accesses

To provide diagnostic features, the app may access or read:

Android does not make every hardware value available on every device. Unavailable values are shown as unavailable. The app does not request or collect your IMEI, device serial number, contacts, messages, phone number, precise location, microphone recordings, or account credentials.

Camera, images, sensors, audio, and vibration

Camera permission is requested only when needed for the camera and flash test. Camera preview and any diagnostic image created during that test are processed locally. The app does not upload camera images to Stargazer Apps. Sensor, audio, touch, and vibration features are used only to perform the test you select.

Information stored on your device

Diagnostic verdicts, notes, measurements, marked areas, module-unlock status, tutorial status, and a device-information snapshot may be stored in the app's local storage. Temporary diagnostic images and generated PDF reports may be stored in the app's temporary files. This information remains on your device unless you choose to share a report.

PDF reports and sharing

When you create a diagnostic PDF, the report is generated locally. If you choose Share, Android presents the apps and services available on your device. You decide the recipient and destination. The selected recipient, messaging app, cloud-storage provider, or other service processes the shared file under its own privacy terms.

Advertising and consent

Some diagnostic modules can be unlocked with a rewarded advertisement supplied by Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners may process IP address, device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, ad impressions, approximate location inferred from network information, consent choices, and diagnostics to deliver, measure, secure, and personalize or limit advertising as permitted by your settings and applicable law.

The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform where required to request and manage advertising consent. See Google's advertising information and the Google Privacy Policy.

How we use and disclose information

Locally processed information is used to operate the diagnostic features, display measurements, remember your test progress, and create reports at your request. We do not sell your personal information for money. Advertising-related disclosures may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a similar regulated activity in some jurisdictions.

Retention and deletion

You can reset diagnostic results from within the app. You can also delete locally stored information by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app. Temporary files may be removed automatically by Android. Copies of reports you shared or saved outside the app remain under the control of the destination you selected. Google-controlled advertising records follow Google's retention practices.

Service providers

Google AdMob and Google's consent services support advertising. Google Play distributes the app. Android and the apps you select process report sharing. This policy page is hosted through Cloudflare, which may process ordinary request, security, performance, IP address, browser, device-type, and approximate-region data under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can decline camera permission, avoid ad-supported modules, reset diagnostic results, clear app storage, uninstall the app, and choose whether to create or share a report. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights to request information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability for personal information processed by us. Contact us using the address below. Requests concerning data controlled solely by Google or another provider must be directed to that provider.

Security

We limit application data to the features described above and use Android's application storage and encrypted network transport provided by integrated services. No storage or transmission system is completely secure. Protect exported PDF reports because they can contain device details, test results, and notes.

Children

Screen & Hardware Inspector is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an application account or backend. If you believe a child has provided information in connection with the app, contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy at this URL and update the effective date. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it.
